Catherine Cain was a three sport athlete during her career at Stivers School for the Arts. She lettered in basketball, soccer and track. She was an Honorable Mention Conference soccer player and a member of a Conference Champion track team in which she placed in several events. Basketball was by far her best sport. In her junior year she was named to the SW Ohio Buckeye League First Team and Division III All-Southwestern Ohio Second Team.
She was in the top ten in scoring in the area averaging 14.9 points a game and pulling down 9.7 rebounds per game. Her senior year, she was First Team All-Conference, Second Team All-District and Second Team All-State. She averaged 18.6 points, 10.3 rebounds and three steals her senior year.
Catherine played four years of basketball at Ohio University where she graduated with a degree in Sports Management and a minor in Business Administration. Accolades during her tenure at OU were scoring a career high of 23 points against Hampton University during the Air Force Holiday Tournament and being voted onto the All-Tournament team.
Due to an extra year of eligibility granted by the NCAA, Catherine transferred to and played her final year at the University of South Carolina-Aiken. There she led the conference in rebounding and averaged nearly a double-double of 18 pointsand 9 rebounds.
After her college career, Catherine played professional basketball in Europe in Stara Zagora for Team Berea 007. She played for two seasons before starting her teaching career. She taught 5 years in the Cleveland Metro School System as a Physical Education teacher. Catherine left education to become a full-time entrepreneur where she currently heads three companies including a real estate investment company, a logistic company and a hookah lounge. She currently lives in Cleveland, Ohio.
