Seante Turner was a track and basketball star at Stivers School for the Arts. She was the second leading scorer and team leader for the Tiger basketball squad, but track was her best sport and went on to run for three seasons in college.
In 2000, her Sophomore year, the Stivers 400 meter relay team finished 2nd in the City of Dayton meet. In the Division 11 District meet, Seante finished 3rd in the 100 meter sprint. At the Division 11 State of Ohio meet, she and the 400 meter relay team finished 2nd.
She had another outstanding track season in 2001. The Stivers 200 meter relay team finished 3rd in the Cedarville Invitational. Seante placed 3rd in the 100 meter sprint at the Division 11 District meet and qualified for the Regional competition. In the Division 11 Regional, she finished 8th in the 100 meter sprint which qualified her for the State of Ohio competition where she finished 15th in 13.1 seconds.
Seante was also an outstanding player for the Tiger basketball team. She was a three time MVP of the team and was named to the All-City Honorable Mention squad two years. She was honored all 4 years for being a Dayton Public School scholar athlete.
After graduating from Stivers, Seante enrolled at North Carolina A&T where she ran track for one season. She transferred to Kentucky State U. and ran track two years for the Thorobreds. She graduated magna cum laude from Kentucky State with a Bachelors Degree in Physical Education and is now working as a Registered Nurse.
Seante and her husband, Charles Metcalf, will celebrate 10 years of marriage in August 2024.
