Gene Millard 1953

Gene received 3 letters in Football. In 1953 he received the Public School Champions letter, In 1952 – ’53 he was the All City Quarterback 2nd Team and he was the Team Captain in 1952 – ’53. In Basketball he also received 3 letters. The Stivers team won City Champions 1951 and 1953, District Champions in 1951, District Runners-up 1952 and 1953 and Gene was on the team that was selected on All City Team in 1953. Gene earned four letters in Baseball and was the Team Captain in 1953.

He graduated in 1958 from Ohio State University and received his Masters in Education in 1963. During his college years he received 3 letters in Basketball.

During his career Gene was a High School Teacher, Coach and Athletic Director, He coached Football for 9 years, Baseball for 4 years, Track for 3 years and Basketball for 38 years.

Gene married his High School Classmate, Sally Settle, also from the Stivers Class of ’53. They had 4 children – Todd, Becky (deceased), Michael and Mindy. They have 10 grandchildren.
