Frank Shiveley 1952

Frank was considered the best track athlete ever to run the half mile, the mile and cross country distances in Dayton prep history. In 1952 he won the mile at the Miami Relays, the mile and half mile at the Dayton Relays, won the City Meet in both events and established new City records. Frank placed first in the District Track Meet in both the mile and half mile. In the State Meet he finished third in the mile and won the half mile to become State Champion. In the fall of 1951 he won both the City & District Meets in cross country. His course record at Springfield’s Snyder Park District Meet was 9:59. Frank participated in reserve basketball in 1950 when Stivers was Reserve Basketball City Champs. In 1951 he earned a varsity letter in track and cross country. In 1952 he earned a varsity letter in basketball, track and cross country. He and his wife, Sandra, live in Brentwood TN. They have 3 sons & 1 daughter.
