Bill Frederick 1967

Bill Frederick was an outstanding athlete who played football, basketball and ran track. He played offense and defense all four years on the football team and was co-captain his junior & senior years. His 1966 team was defeated by Roth HS in the Dayton Public League Championship game. Bill was All-City first team offense & defense at running back and line backer. He was All-Greater Dayton 1st team defense, All-South-western Ohio defense and 2nd team All-State. Bill was selected to play defense for the South in the annual North-South All-Star game in Canton, and had an outstanding game. Bill’s basketball career was equally impressive. As a sophomore, he was 3 times named “Dayton Daily News Athlete of the Week- In 3 consecutive games he scored a total of 91 points and grabbed 58 rebounds. In 1967 Bill was 1st team All City & 2nd team All-Southwestern Ohio. He was recruited all across the country but Bill chose to accept a football scholarship to the University of Dayton. He and his wife, Bonnie, live in East Dayton.

  1. Congradulations on the hall of fame.You are probably known more for football,but I always thought you were a heck of a basketball player too.Football was your sport,I saw you do some amazing things on the football field.This is well deserved,once again congrats.
