Frankie Sanders 1975

Frank had an illustrious basketball career that began at Stivers. As a senior, Frankie averaged 33.9 pts & 20 rebounds per game with a carrer high of 50. He was the first player in the history of Dayton to average over 30 pts./game and was “High School All American.” In the State Finals in 1975 the Tigers lost in overtime. Frank was “Mr. Basketball in the State of Ohio”. He attended Southern University where his career flourished. In his freshman year he averaged 25.6 pts/game and 10 rebounds. His sophomore year he averaged 26 pts./game and 10.5 rebounds and in his Junior year he averaged 28.7 pts per game. Frank was the 3rd leading scorer in the country. In 1978 he was the first round draft pick of the San Antonio Spurs. He played with the Boston Celtics in 1979 and in 1980 with the Kansas City Kings. Between 1983-1985 Frank played in Venezuela, Spain and France. Frank lives in the Dayton area and has 3 adult children.
