Charles Morgan 1957

At Stivers, Mickey was a three year starter in basketball and also lettered two years in cross country. In 1957 he earned All-City honors in basketball. Mickey attended Morehead State University in Kentucky where he played on the Ohio Valley Conference championship team which advanced to the NCAA Sweet 16 in 1961. Following graduation, Mickey coached basketball at Raceland, Kentucky for two years.

After leaving Raceland, Mickey came to Kettering to teach and coach. His varsity basketball teams at Fairmont West High School won the Western Ohio League championship in 1975 and 1976. Mickey also coached tennis at Fairmont West where his teams earned three conference championships. During these coaching and teaching years, Mickey co-owned and directed Buckeye Basketball Camp with Bill Hosket for 22 years, serving boys and girls from all over Ohio and adjoining states.

After serving as Athletic Director at Fairmont High School, Mickey retired with thirty-six years in education as a teacher, coach, director and administrator.

He lives in Kettering with his wife, Ruth Ann, and has two sons, John and Robert, daughter-in-law Amy, and grandson, Taylor.
