Harry earned 11 letters at Stivers starring in football, basketball and baseball. He was the captain of the State Championship basketball teams in 1919 and 1920. Harry scored 12 points in the deciding game against Akron in 1920. Rollie Bevan, who was the trainer at Army during the glory years of Army football, once said that he had seen some great athletes in his time, but, he had never seen one better than Harry Schwab. Harry went on to play baseball as high as Triple A before he retired and became a golf professional. He was the first golfer in the city of Dayton to win a national professional title and a member of the PGA for 28 years. He was the head pro at Community Country Club for many years and capped his golf career by winning the Senior PGA Tournament – a tremendous feat. Harry married Eunice Jacobs and had three children – Robert, Pat and Harry Jr. (Tim).
He died in 1976 at the age of 75.
