Jessica is one of the most outstanding students and three sport athletes to graduate from Stivers School for the Arts. She was an honor student with a grade point average of 4.24 and was the Salutatorian of the 2007 Class. She is also a promising modern and classical pianist. Jessica was the captain and most valuable player of the Stivers soccer, swimming and softball teams in her senior year. She earned 1st place in the sectional swimming competition and 5th place in the district level to qualify for the state meet. Most notably, Jessica was the rst Dayton Public Schools swimmer to qualify for the Ohio State Swim Meet where she nished 16th in the 100 meter breast stroke.
Jessica earned several awards for her great success as a high school athlete. She was Most Valuable Player of Southwest Ohio Public League in softball in 2005 and nominated for Wendy’s Heisman Award in 2006. Not only was she named the Penn Station Athlete of the Year with a renewable $5,000 scholarship in 2007, but she was also named Dayton Public Schools Female Athlete of the Year as a senior. The Ohio High School Athletic Association named Jessica as a Scholar Athlete and All Ohio for swimming in 2007. Jessica gives credit to her parents and coaches for her work ethic and success both in the classroom and on the sports eld. Jessica’s dad, Bob Swope, is a union carpenter and her mother, Marsha Swope, is a nurse. She also has two sisters, Heather and Molly.
Jessica attended Wright State University following her success at Stivers School for the Arts and graduated Cum Laude in 2011 with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. She attained several academic achievements at Wright State including departmental honors, and University Scholar honors. Jessica is engaged to her college sweetheart, Andy Reo. She currently works as a clinical nurse in the Oncology Department at Miami Valley Hospital.
