Davis received 3 letters in football and 3 letters in track during his high school years and was known as a fireball, do-it-all man for the Stivers grid squad. The Dayton Journal Herald Newspaper named him the “Most Valuable Football Player in Dayton” in 1943 at their Eight Annual Citation Ceremony.
He was awarded the school letter in football. Kermit received All-City , Honorary Captain. Kermit also won Honorable Mention All-State. The Dayton Chamber of Commerce awarded him “Star of Stars” in 1944 Dayton High School Football. Coach “Pop” Warner said “Kermit was the only man I ever handled who merited selection as the city’s most valuable”.
Kermit is retired and lives in Plainfield, Indiana.
